The live band Forsberg Wilson & Muller where I'm guitarist, basist and lead voice, had our first gig this thurstday. Forsberg Wilson & Muller plays Gus songs and a cover or two from other artists. This time the very nice and slow The Wating Game by Bachmann and Turner. You know them from the legendary Canadian rock band BTO.
Konsulrocken is a rock contest between 5 bands so it's short gig:s. This year we played at a famous Stockholm pub called Kolingen. We did not win. A band called Shuntgruppen won. But it was fun trying the stage with the new band. We, apart from me, had a good gig. Öjje Forsberg on drums, Challe Wilson on keyboards and bass and Clara Wilson on keyboards and song did a great job. In Fangs, the last song of the set, we borrowed talented guitarist Stefan Hedenström from B-sides for the opium high type solo in the song. He did great.
But I had one of these days. The week before the gig I was with my darling Åsa our, oldest son and his wife and our two wonderful grandchildren on Gran Canaria in Spain. So I was realxed and..... and not so well prepared. I guess. So i did a lot of mistakes on stage. I sang the verses in the wrong order, I got lost on the neck of my bass that I'm so familiar with in a song I'v played a "million times". And..... I forgot to plug in the guitar in one song. Just unforgivable. I changed between bass and guitar in the gig. And the order we played it in made me change between each song. But for the last song.....
But I'v heard a recording of the gig and as usual the mistakes does not sound as much as I feel they do. That's good. But every change from the ordinary or how we rehearsed the songs makes it difficult for the rest of the band.
So to the rest of the band, I'm sorry!
