Gus Muller is the bassist and lead singer of the live band RMF. RMF had a gig at the small but renowned rock club PSB yesterday.
The gig went well according to most of our listeners, but we in the band feel we had more to give, that we just not could get out there. We have to figure this one out, clearly. We will have a follow up meeting next week. Anyway, most things worked out well. And we had great fun on the hot stage, in the stage lights.
We brought 4 songs written by RMF. They all started out as a improvs before we start rehearsing on Thursday evenings. Some of those small improvs sound good and we write a lyric for them and if it turns out good .... it´s a new song from RMF. Most listeners liked them, but the song called "Bad Things" ..... well, was recieved as a ... bad thing? No not really, but I thing we have to rewrite it to get some more dynamics into it.
RMF does one of Gus Mullers songs, it´s "Give me a Reason". But played on stage it´s more straight forward and a little more rock´n roll than in the studio version. It works good on stage but I have to sing i at the very top of my vocal range so I´m always nervous before.
We topped the whole gig of with some good old covers like Gimme some Lovin´, Rocking in the free World, Saving Grace, Fortunate son and Jesus just left Chicago / Sharp dressed man as a two song ....medly?
