I spent a weekend a couple of weeks ago in Sofie Rimhedens capable hands. I was learning Cubase in her class. And she walked us thru the basics and some more advanced features of Cubase.
Well, during her class we worked with the Midi keyboard most of the time. And we learned to put the drums in, the bass line and more. During the weekend we all built a little Midi track as part of the exercises. So... I admit... I layed down the bass on a Midi keyboard, rather than on the real thing. But it actually sounds quite good, I unwillingly admit. On sunday afternoon I had put together a 2 minute ... sound. I made a WAW file of it and mailed it to my self.
Back home I played the little 2 minute loop to some friends. And their where all looking like bobblehead dolls when they listened. Their heads noddin´to the rhythem. Kinda cute. So I listened again my self. And the little execise loop was actually a little good. Or at least rhythmic.
I had only the WAW file and not the individual tracks, but I remebered the tempo and with Cubase it was easy to cut and paste in the WAW track. I chopped the file up in smaller pieces and then put some parts together again. I left a quieter part in the middle where it could be some lyrics maybe. Listened again, still worked. I decided to write a lyric for the ... extended loop.
I thought, why not tell the story. A "MadMen"-man I know keeps saying to me "-Tell your story". So, I did. The lyrics is simply about the weekend with Sophie and how she tuaght me Cubase. So that was that.

I hope you like it, or bobble your head to it....at least.
