UNSUNG HEROES

Very easy to dial in to the room/studio they are placed in with the three 4-way position compensation toogles.
New song? No.... nearfield monitors. I even like their name... nearfield monitors. They are the unsung heroes of music production. Us musicians like to talk about our guitars and basses, our megawatt PA:s and our superpunch bass riggs. Everything visble on stage. But when it comes to the studio recording and music production, the nearfield monitors are the heroes. Or reference speakeras as they also is known. But it doesen sit as well when saying it, does it?
They are a little special as speakers. Ususally speakers are made to make more sound, more dBa:s. But the nearfield monitor will be right in front of you when mixing. Just a meter or so away. Their job is not to make a lot of sound but to replicate the sound of the recordings or mixes as true as possible. I once met a friend in a 4sound store in Stockholm looking for monitors. I asked "-Have you found any that sound good?", "-Yeah, alot of them" he answered "-But I want a pair that sounds right". Spot on.
I have had a couple of different nearfilders. But I have stayed with my Behringer B2030A Truth:s for a long time now. They are a old style monitors, heavy, well built, with a 6 3/4 " bass element and with a built in Bi-amplifier. Rumour has it that it's really a old Genelec construction that Behringer has bought. Genelec considered by many to be the leaders in nerafield monitors. I don't know, but they are really good. And they can replicate bass sound very accurately. Behringer sometimes has kind of a bad reputation for build quality and sound. But, my Behringer 1000 W PA:s has out lived a couple of Alto professionals and QSC:s, and the Behringers sound is far greater. My Behringers have been thru a lot too, but is still doing well. I'v listened quite a lot to more modern nearfield monitor with smaller bass cones and they just do do it. If your ego can take the Behringer brand name, your in a sweet spot.
So I like the big, heavy, old style, Behringers. And the name is good: "B2030A Truth". They tell the truth. When mixing and matering you hear everything. Every instrument, every mistake.....everything. And that's good. It's a little disheartening at times but I have time to correct before the songs are out to hear for all of you. My producer Micke MiMo Moberg is changing to the Behringers too. It will make his work easier.
